PORT ANGELES — A 31-year-old Sequim man has been charged with three counts of delivery of a controlled substance for allegedly selling methamphetamine to an Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team informant last October.
Phillip R. Bushnell, who was arrested by Sequim police Sunday night, was charged Wendesday. He remained in the Clallam County jail on $20,000 bond Thursday.
He will be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. today in Clallam County Superior Court.
Authorities said Bushnell sold 0.69 grams of methamphetamine to an OPNET informant in the parking lot of a Sequim restaurant Oct. 4.
He also was alleged to have sold 0.68 grams of meth at a Sequim gas station Oct. 15 and 1.17 grams of meth outside of a Sequim department store Oct. 30.
A State Patrol crime lab confirmed that the substance Bushnell sold was methamphetamine.
All of the sales occurred at night, OPNET Supervisor Jason Viada said.
“Washington state law allows OPNET to make arrests based on probable cause, on any day of OPNET’s choosing, up to three years after a suspect has delivered illegal narcotics to OPNET,” Viada wrote in a statement.
“Bushnell was just one of about 30 people across the North Olympic Peninsula who will be informed at the time of their arrests that they have delivered illegal narcotics to OPNET.”
