SEQUIM –– A Sequim man remained in the Clallam County jail on two warrants Tuesday after a standoff with police Monday.
Kody A. Kautzman, 24, was booked into Clallam County jail on $50,000 bond after the standoff outside a home at 933 E. Cedar St.
Sequim police, Clallam County sheriff’s deputies and Fire District No. 3 crews surrounded the house after Kautzman refused to come out to be arrested on a pair of warrants for failing to appear in court, police said.
The warrants were issued by Clallam County District Court after Kautzman did not appear in court as ordered Sept. 19, authorities said.
Sequim Police Lt. Sheri Crain said the department asked for more law enforcement after Kautzman refused to come out of the house.
Kautzman eventually surrendered peacefully and was arrested and taken to jail.
