SEQUIM — A 21-year-old Sequim man was killed today in a head-on collision on Old Olympic Highway northwest of downtown.
The State Patrol identified the man as Lucas L. Lahmeyer, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Old Olympic Highway and Livengood Lane in unincorporated territory north of the city limit.
Trooper Ken Ahrens reported that a 1997 Kia Sportage car, heading westbound on Old Olympic Highway, apparently crossed the centerline and collided with an eastbound 2001 Ford Explorer driven by Jeanne M. Cameron, 50, of Sequim. The crash occurred at 9:56 a.m.
Cameron was transported to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles, treated for possible internal injuries and released, Ahrens’ report said.
Both vehicles were destroyed. The collision is under investigation.
