SEQUIM — A Sequim man who wrecked the truck he was driving at a Sequim gas station after a brief chase with police April 1 will serve two years in community custody.
Daniel Robert Davis, 44, was sentenced Wednesday to 24 months of community custody, in which he’ll live in a private home and report regularly to a state Department of Corrections officer.
Davis also will serve between 90 and 180 days in a residential chemical dependency program and pay $1,390 in court costs, penalties and fees.
Davis pleaded guilty in May to attempting to elude a pursing police officer and second-degree burglary.
He was arrested April 1 after he lost control of his white Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck and crashed into the outer gas pump island at Kettel’s 76 Station in Sequim.
The arrest followed about a minute of pursuit in which Davis led a Clallam County sheriff’s deputy and two Sequim police officers through downtown Sequim, reaching speeds of 40 mph in 25 mph zones.
Just before the chase, Davis had reportedly broken into a storage unit and stolen a number of documents.
The subsequent chase left the documents strewn across city streets along the route of the pursuit.
