SEQUIM — If all goes as planned, an eight-screen movie theater proposed for the east end of town could be selling tickets and showing first-run movies by next October.
“We’d like to be under construction by summer,” said project architect William Lindberg, of Lindberg & Smith Architects in Port Angeles.
“We see it as a 9- or 10-month project.”
The plan for the theater complex, which would be built on nearly eight acres of vacant land bounded by East Washington Street and Rhodefer and West Sequim Bay roads, encountered no significant hurdles during a Dec. 16 pre-application conference with Sequim city planners, according to Lindberg and city Planning Director Dennis Lefevre.
“There’s no significant obstacles,” Lefevre said. “It look like a real good project.”
