PORT ANGELES — Olympic Medical Center must seek new bids for its expanded Sequim Medical Park.
Although a dozen general contractors attended a pre-bid meeting on a new Ancillary Services Building and an oncology addition to the existing Cancer Center at 844 N. Fifth Ave., only three submitted bids on Tuesday.
One bid was disqualified for being late and not meeting all contract requirements.
Both other bids exceeded the ceiling of $14.46 million.
Primo Construction of Sequim bid $15.129 million while J.E. Dunn of Portland, Ore., bid $15.2 million.
“We were disappointed with the number of bidders,” said hospital CEO Mike Glenn.
“You’d think you’d see more bids on a project of this size.”
No bids came from Seattle, Glenn noted.
