SEQUIM — In one sense, he looks like the boy next door — an impish, mild-mannered type who leaves the bravado to others.
But ask some who have worked with him and they’ll tell you that Garn Christensen — Sequim’s new schools superintendent — is a tenacious, tough-minded workaholic with a wicked sense of humor.
“Well, it’s school. It ought to be fun,” Christensen said Thursday, six days before nearly 3,000 children report to public schools under his leadership.
Christensen, 40, replaces Mike Joyner as superintendent of Sequim schools, coming from the same position in an Eastern Washington district about half the size of Sequim’s.
