SEQUIM — Plans for a major new shopping center, providing 395,000 square feet of retail space, were unveiled Monday.
Artists’ conceptual drawings included with the plans indicate an Albertsons food store will be built as part of the shopping center which will be called Sequim Village Marketplace, to be situated on the west end of town.
By comparison, the main mall in Silverdale has about 800,000 square feet of shopping space in a single building with covered walk areas.
Two weeks ago, Wal-Mart the world’s largest retailer, confirmed it had filed plans with the city to build a retail outlet, and eventually a grocery store, on the northwest corner of Washington Street and Priest Road.
The mall unveiled Monday would be built across the street.
