SEQUIM — Melvin Lloyd Beebe couldn’t beat the game of golf, but his wife, Alice, says he never gave up trying.
“He said it was the game you couldn’t beat,” Mrs. Beebe said.
Like golf, life is also a game he couldn’t beat.
Beebe, Olympic Game Farm president, died Wednesday in Port Angeles after battling cancer. He was 59.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Dungeness Golf & Country Club, 1965 Woodcock Road.
Sequim Valley Chapel, 108 W. Alder St., is in charge of arrangements.
Olympic Game Farm, one of the North Olympic Peninsula’s most popular tourist attractions at 1423 Ward Road, was started by Mr. Beebe’s parents, S. Lloyd and Catherine Massey Beebe.
