SEQUIM — Metal beams framed the podium Friday during the official “ground-breaking” ceremony for Olympic Medical Center’s new radiation/oncology center.
“It means we’re a little bit late with the ceremony or the construction is a little ahead of schedule,” said Mike Glenn, chief executive officer of the medical center.
Olympic is the public health-care district serving the central Olympic Peninsula.
Glenn said the new radiation/oncology center symbolizes the next step in creation of a Sequim medical campus at 800 N. Fifth Ave. He said the center is also a symbol of the new partnership for cancer care between Olympic and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.
