SEQUIM — Two more national chains have announced their intentions to build on Sequim’s chronically under-construction west side — California-based Petco and Seattle coffee retailer Starbucks, which already has a kiosk inside Safeway.
Starbucks representatives could not be reached for comment Wednesday, but an application with the city of Sequim details plans for a 1,500-square-foot building in front of The Home Depot on West Washington Street.
That’s the same shopping center where Petco plans to locate a 15,000-square-foot building on the west side of The Home Depot, according to city documents and company spokeswoman Gina Zlaket.
Zlaket emphasized that the lease papers have not been signed.
“So as far as official announcements go, nothing can be said,” Zlaket said.
“We are interested.”
She said that if all proceeds as planned, the store should be open by April.
