SEQUIM — It’s a trip to Oz, fueled by coffee and candlelight.
Sequim’s third annual Relay for Life has a new theme and location this year. The theme, which has been used this year by Relay for Life events all over the Pacific Northwest, also fits with what happened last year.
It was no Kansas tornado, but it reminded relay boss Scott Quast of the “Wizard of Oz:” One of many wind gusts grabbed the big Survivors tent, yanked its poles from the dirt at the Sequim High School track, hurled it over a car and a fence and deposited it in the green field on Fir Street.
“That’s where we’re going to have the relay this year,” Quast said.
