SEQUIM — Fourth-grade students in both public and private schools have received new hard-bound dictionaries courtesy of a Rotary Club of Sequim program in its second year.
Dictionaries — 238 in all — were presented to the students by Rotarians who visited students at Greywolf and Helen Haller Elementary Schools, Community School, Seventh-day Adventist Church school, and Five Acre School.
Each dictionary is emblazoned with a student’s name and the Rotary emblem.
“We wanted to try and reach all the schools,” Rotary president Harry Hughes said.
“It’s something they’ll use all year long,” said Patra Boots, director of curriculum and instruction for the Sequim School District. “It will last them throughout their academic careers.”
