SEQUIM — The sale of the former ShopRite grocery store in the 700 block of East Washington Street to a man who owns a Port Angeles grocery store appears to be nearing completion.
David Sheehan, a vice president with the Tacoma company representing the sellers, said Thursday he expects the sale to come out of escrow sometime in the coming week.
Sheehan, of Insignia Kidder Mathews, warned that any potential deal can fall through at any time until the purchase is completed.
Sheehan said he’s seen a number offers for the building fall through in the past couple of years.
He said the building has been owned for the past 15 years by two retired Seattle men and an Oregon bank.
Greg Saar, owner of Market Place Foods at 2343 E. Highway 101, is reportedly purchasing the store.
