The Sequim School Board will meet in a special session this evening, May 4, to decide how to make up an anticipated $450,000 shortfall in the district’s 2001-2002 operating budget.
The public meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Sequim High School cafeteria, 601 N. Sequim Ave.
Budget cuts are being prompted by the April election failure of the district’s proposed three-year, $8.2 million maintenance and operations levy.
Cuts may be made in extra-curricular activities, including some athletic programs.
