SEQUIM — Superintendent Mike Joyner doesn’t expect the school district to collect major revenue by increasing user fees for the district’s buildings and fields.
“We’re only trying to recoup our costs,” Joyner said Monday, addressing the School Board.
“We anticipate little more than a break-even situation, especially with utility fees going up so much next year.”
Stressing “it costs the district to maintain these facilities,” Joyner offered a tentative fee schedule for the board’s consideration.
Board members, who already face the challenge of identifying resources to make up for an anticipated 2001-2002 fiscal budget shortfall, responded with unanimous support of the proposal.
Joyner said district sponsored curricular and co-curricular activities will retain first priority in the use of all district buildings and fields.
