SEQUIM — The city of Sequim is introducing “Sequim 120,” a “visioning” exercise for the its comprehensive plan update, on Saturday and Sunday.
Programs are scheduled at the Sequim Transit Center, 190 W. Cedar St., at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday and at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday.
Each workshop of about 75 people will include such interactive activities as “pulse pad” values statement opinion polling, futures mapping, a take-home “word cloud” questionnaire and an activity focused on transportation values and priorities.
Sequim 120 was chosen as the name for the public participation program of the comprehensive plan update because it reflects the legacy of 100 years since the city’s incorporation and the community’s preparation for the next 20 years of growth, the city said in a statement.
The city’s current comprehensive plan was written in 2006 during a time when the city was experiencing unprecedented growth and development.
Now that the local and global economies have changed, so have the conditions for change, city officials said.
Those interested in participating can phone the Sequim 120 hotline at 360-582-2448 and leave a name and contact information to sign up for a session or request more information.
Participants also can register by sending an email to Sequim120@sequimwa.gov.
