An 18-year high school and middle school teacher at the center of an investigation over alleged inappropriate behavior with students has resigned, it was announced Monday night.
Dave Cross, a choir teacher and director of an extracurricular chorale group, was discharged in March following a six-week investigation into e-mail, phone and personal communications with current and former students deemed by district officials to be inappropriate and sexually explicit.
Cross first notified the district he intended to appeal his dismissal, but late last week tendered his resignation instead. School Board members accepted the resignation at their Monday night meeting.
