SHELTON — A Sequim woman was injured when a motorcycle on which she was a passenger hit a deer about 30 miles north of Shelton on Sunday morning.
Cheryl Johnson, 54, suffered a fractured leg, State Patrol said.
The State Patrol news release said she was taken to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Tacoma, but a supervisor there said it had no record of her.
The State Patrol gave this account of the wreck:
Steven Granum, 59, of Port Angeles was riding southbound on U.S. Highway 101 near Shelton when the deer jumped in front of his 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
He was not cited for the wreck.
Both Granum and Johnson were wearing helmets at the time.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were considered factors in the wreck.
The motorcycle had about $1,000 of damage and was driven from the scene.
