SEQUIM — “Tales from the Sequimish,” an evening of original stories by local writers Doug McInnes, Howard Chadwick, Tim Wheeler and Heidi Hansen, will take the stage Friday evening at Olympic Theatre Arts, or OTA, at 414 N. Sequim Ave.
The 6 p.m. presentation, another in the “Unusual Evening in Sequim” series, also will feature an on-stage interview with Joe Borden, a key Sequim Irrigation Festival volunteer for 19 years.
Borden will address the question: “Why does Sequim have an Irrigation Festival anyway?”
“‘Tales from the Sequimish’ are stories you won’t hear anywhere else,” said OTA board member Sharon DeLaBarre.
“Sequim has a wealth of talent,” she added, and the “Unusual Evening” shows aim to let that local talent shine through original work.
At the same time Friday, Sequim’s monthly Art Walk will take place downtown as galleries, shops and cafes stay open from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. serving refreshments and displaying art, all with free admission.
‘Brilliant Traces’
At OTA following “Tales from the Sequimish” on Friday, the drama “Brilliant Traces,” starring Amy Meyer and Eric Pozgay, will take the main stage.
“Brilliant” has just three performances left in its run: at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are $16 for adults and $10 for youths 16 and younger, while OTA members and active-duty military receive a $2 discount.
