PORT ANGELES — A 21-year-old Sequim man was arrested by Clallam County corrections deputies after he tried to escape from a District Court courtroom last week, the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office said.
Trevor K. Durham is being held without bond in the Clallam County jail for investigation of third-degree escape and resisting arrest.
His original District Court charge was driving under the influence.
Clallam County District Court Judge Rick Porter had remanded Durham to jail for the alleged DUI, and Corrections Deputy Mark Raemer tried to take Durham into custody Friday at the Clallam County Courthouse in Port Angeles, Chief Criminal Deputy Ron Cameron said.
According to Cameron, Durham told the deputy “I’m not going with you” several times before he attempted to leave the courtroom.
After a brief struggle, Durham was arrested by Raemer with assistance from District Court probation staff and taken downstairs to the jail at about 11 a.m., Cameron said.
No one was hurt in the incident, Cameron said.
