PORT ANGELES — Clallam County commissioners Monday will review a recommendation prohibiting monetary compensation for personnel activated for military duty.
A recommendation from County Administrator Dan Engelbertson would establish a timeframe for continued medical insurance, but would not authorize paying employees called away for military duty.
Meanwhile, Sheriff Joe Hawe has withdrawn his request to be paid by the county while he is serving as a special agent for the Coast Guard.
According to Clallam County Commissioner Mike Chapman, R-Port Angeles, Hawe called him Friday to verbally withdraw the request.
