ELMA — The Grays Harbor County sheriff’s office says one person is dead after a small plane crashed into power lines north of Elma, sparking a brush fire.
Undersheriff Rick Scott said one person was confirmed dead in the Wednesday afternoon crash. The victim was not immediately identified. Scott said the fire was quickly extinguished.
The Federal Aviation Administration and State Patrol also responded. The plane reportedly was registered in Olympia.
The Grays Harbor Public Utility District says about 15 customers lost power because of the downed lines.
