Hood Canal bridge inspections next week will mean traffic delays for motorists.
According to the state Department of Transportation, maintenance inspections will prompt bridge openings at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. from June 3 through June 7.
The maintenance inspections are a prelude to upcoming discussions on the planned $205 million bridge upgrade, which culminates in an 8-week closure in 2006.
Open house meetings are planned for 5 p.m. June 5 at Carrie Blake Community Center, Sequim, and 5 p.m. June 6 at Chimacum School, 91 W. Valley Road, Chimacum.
The meeting will include detailed descriptions of the construction phases.
