PORT LUDLOW — A Silverdale woman was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle following a single-car crash on state Highway 19.
Andrew R. Hovde, 44, of Chimacum was driving a 2000 Dodge Ram pickup at a high rate of speed at milepost 1 at about 10:21 a.m. Wednesday when the vehicle was unable to slow down for traffic ahead and lost control, the State Patrol said. The pickup left the roadway to the right side, struck a stone wall and came to rest in the ditch, the State Patrol said.
Heather L. Goodwin, 42, of Silverdale was a passenger in the vehicle and was airlifted to Harborview. She was in satisfactory condition on Thursday, hospital spokesperson Susan Gregg said.
Hovde was not injured, the State Patrol said.
Both were wearing seat belts. Neither drugs nor alcohol were involved, the State Patrol said.
The cause was under investigation Thursday.
The pickup was totally destroyed and taken to the state patrol facility in Port Angeles as evidence, the State Patrol said.
