DISCOVERY BAY — Overnight single-lane closures on U.S. Highway 101 near Discovery Bay will begin Monday, the state Department of Transportation confirmed.
Hours will be from 10 p.m. each Monday through Friday night to 9 a.m. the following day.
Drivers will follow a pilot car through the single lanes.
An 8-mile stretch is getting a face lift. Contractor crews working for DOT will begin preparatory work to extend the life of the roadway from Old Gardiner Road to north of West Uncas Road in Jefferson County.
In addition to repaving the highway, crews will make repairs to the Salmon Creek Bridge and Snow Creek Bridge. The work includes repairing the driving surface of the bridge decks and replacing bridge expansion joints.
All work is weather-dependent and could be rescheduled.

No work will take place May 3-12 and July 19-21 for the Sequim Irrigation and Sequim Lavender Weekend festivals, transportation officials said.
