Between sugar-coated elephant ears and bananas dipped in chocolate, the swarms of people attending this weekend’s Juan de Fuca Festival of the Arts could eat their way through Memorial Day.
But don’t miss the four days of sizzling jazz, Irish soul, juggling, story telling and more than 125 other performances and workshops scheduled for this year’s ninth annual festival.
The festival fires up today and lasts through Monday with performances at six venues.
In addition to the Juan de Fuca Festival, available holiday weekend entertainment includes ShrimpFest today through Sunday in Brinnon, the Outlaw Monster Truck Challenge tonight and Saturday at the Clallam County Fairgrounds in Port Angeles, and the Royal Victoria Yacht Club’s annual Swiftsure sailboat races across the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
For more on ShrimpFest or the Outlaw Monster Truck Challenge see the Friday/Saturday Peninsula Daily News.
The Swiftsure races — including the North Olympic Peninsula sailors who will be competing — appears in Peninsula Spotlight as part of the Friday/Saturday PDN.
