Mud and debris are blocking both lanes of state Highway 112 at Milepost 5 between Neah Bay and Sekiu, the state Department of Transportation said this evening.
Preliminary reviews of the slide reported at 4:46 p.m. today show about 3,000 cubic yards of material across the roadway and that the slide is still moving, Transportation said.
The slide is expected to block the road overnight at least.
Crews will reassess the slide Thursday morning and determine whether operations to reopen the roadway can safely begin, Transportation said.
