SEQUIM — A propane flash fire left a Sunland man with minor burns to his face and hands this morning.
An unidentified 57-year-old man was working on the heating system which was connected to a propane gas source at a house at 125 Horizon View Drive in Sunland when a small explosion blew off a garage door and caused the man minor burns, said Patrick Young, spokesman for the Sequim Fire District.
The fire department received a call about the blast at about 10:30 a.m.
The man was treated at the scene and was taken to Olympic Medical Center.
The blast also caused a small fire that was smoldering in the insulation when fire fighters arrived. By 11 a.m., they thought they had extinguished it.
