Small quake centered near Port Townsend

PORT TOWNSEND — A minor earthquake of magnitude-3.0 struck at 10:02 p.m. Wednesday with an epicenter just three miles north of Point Wilson.

No damage was reported in the temblor, which was felt in many areas of East Jefferson County.

The University of Washington Earth and Space Sciences Department Web site said the quake occurred at an estimated depth of 33.5 miles below the bottom of the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
