PORT ANGELES — A leaking stormwater drain opened up about a 1-foot diameter sinkhole at Fourth and Washington streets near Civic Field in Port Angeles.
Mike Healy, Port Angeles public works director, said at about 12:20 p.m. Tuesday that a crew was on site assessing the stormwater drain and making repairs. He did not give a timeline.
“Storm drains break with all the rain we’ve had,” he said. “If more water comes out, it just moves earth around under the street. We are investigating and working toward a repair.”
No water or sewer or electrical customers are affected, Healy said.
