Most North Olympic Peninsula schools, including Peninsula College, and many businesses were closed Tuesday and are likely to remain closed today, given the forecast for severe weather.
The exception Tuesday was in East Jefferson County.
Port Townsend schools were open Tuesday with buses operating on snow bus routes.
Chimacum schools also were open, with buses operating on snow routes and early release times for younger children through second grade and a late starting time for children in sixth through 12th grades.
For the Quilcene School District, evening activities were canceled, and school dismissed at 11 a.m. with buses on snow routes.
Port Angeles, Sequim. Port Townsend, Crescent, Quilluyute Valley and Cape Flattery districts were closed Tuesday.
Decisions about closures or delays are made early each morning.
