Some students will get an extended Christmas break due to the flurries of snow that continued to fall on the North Olympic Peninsula.
All school districts throughout the North Olympic Peninsula canceled Thursday classes.
Port Townsend, Chimacum and Quilcene school districts declared today a snow day as well, with all classes canceled.
“Our streets are just so icy,” Port Townsend Superintendent Tom Opstad said on Thursday.
“It is in the best interests of the students to go ahead and cancel Friday classes as well.”
All after school activities also were canceled in both districts.
Schools will begin a two-week break on Monday.
Classes will resume Jan. 5.
