PORT ANGELES — Now that a material witness in the murder-for-hire case of Aaron M. Hahn has been located, lawyers are almost ready to start the trial.
Clallam County Superior Court Judge George L. Wood on Friday set pre-trial motions for Monday at 10 a.m. Jury selection begins Oct. 12.
Port Angeles police officers served a warrant on Norman L. Livengood on Thursday. He was found one week after the warrant was issued. Livengood was wanted as a key witness in Hahn’s murder-for-hire case.
Hahn, 30, is accused of attempting to solicit the murder of a Sequim girl with whom he was charged with sexually exploiting.
The sexual exploitation case, which is separate from the solicitation of murder case, has been resolved. Hahn pleaded guilty to one count of sexual exploitation of a minor as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors.
Hahn is being held on $1 million bail for criminal solicitation.
“It’s a tough case,” defense attorney Ralph Anderson said.
“Judge Wood is considering right now how much of the other case is relevant is this case. That is not decided yet. We don’t want to bring in a jury panel until all the pre-trial motions are resolved.”
Hahn was booked into Clallam County jail in March 2008 after police arranged a false meeting with the girl.
