BRINNON — This year’s Loyalty Day Parade started with a jolt.
A magnitude 4.8 earthquake centered near Mount Anderson caused no damage.
And it didn’t put a damper on the parade later Friday morning, either.
In the heart of town, Brinnon Lane was lined with about 100 spectators eager to see the Loyalty Day Parade.
After a week of gloomy clouds, sunglasses adorned the faces of many spectators as they lined the street for the event.
More than two dozen groups participated in the parade, sponsored by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 10706 in observance of National Loyalty Day on May 1.
The local parade has been put on each year since 1983.
