UNIVERSITY PLACE — Port Angeles Swim Club members recently placed ninth out of 21 teams at an age-group invitational at Curtis Aquatic Center.
A number of club swimmers placed in the top sixth to qualifiy for a championship meet.
Nadia Cole, age 12, won the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 33.72 seconds. Cole also took third in the 100 breastroke in 1:16.27, third in the 500 free with a time of 5:52.77, fourth in the 200 free in 2:14.02 and was sixth in the 100 back in 1:10.75.
Mackenzie Dubois, 9, placed third in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:58.25, fourth in the 500 free in 7:00.28 and sixth in the 200 free in 2:36.42.
Sage Hunter, 10, was fourth in the 200 individual medley after finishing in 2:58.51.
Kiara Schmitt,11, qualified for the championship meet in the 50 free in 29.29.
Emma Murray, 12, placed sixth in the individual medley and 200 butterfly after posting times of 5:42.19 and 2:52.66.
Kenzie Johnson, 13, took sixth in the 500 free in 5:44.10.
Jaine Macias, 15, finished fourth in the 200 breast and 400 individual medley with times of 2:36.5 and 5:02.32, respectively.
Macias also placed fifth in the 100 butterfly and 200 free in times of 1:04.77 and 2:02.41.
Cameron Butler, 13, earned fifth in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:40.08.
Tristin Butler, 15, was fifth in the 500 free in 5:16.64.
The club’s 12 and younger girls 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay teams also qualified for the championship meet.
Relay swimmers are Felicia Che, Nadia Cole, Kiara Schmitt and Emma Murray.
They placed third in the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:08.98 and second in the 200 free relay in 1:54.67.
