Olympic Community Action Programs has received more than $160,000 in state grant money to support its broad array of programs.
The Community Development Block Grant of $160,583 will go toward a “wide range of services”‘ the agency provides in Clallam and Jefferson counties, from employment to housing to access to health care, said Timothy Hockett, OlyCAP’s deputy director.
The state Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development on Tuesday announced the award of more than $1.7 million in 2005 public services grants to OlyCAP and 11 other rural counties and community action agencies throughout the state.
The annual grants fund services for low- and moderate-income people.
