PORT TOWNSEND — A decision on which passenger-ferry route should be used during the 2009 Hood Canal Bridge construction closure, which was expected today, will be delayed.
The state expected to have compiled by today the results of a public survey conducted to determine if a Port Ludlow-Kingston or a South Point-Lofall passenger ferry route would be used, said Becky Hixson, Hood Canal Bridge project business manager.
“I thought we would get there,” said Hixson, who helped coordinate the survey both online and by phone.
Hixson added that state Transportation Secretary Paula Hammond, who will make the decision about which ferry route will be used, was out of town this week.
Hixson said she was uncertain when the survey answers would be compiled.
