Authorities are investigating two separate car crashes Monday night involving North Olympic Peninsula drivers.
Neither was injured, according to first responders at the scenes, although one of them was booked into the Kitsap County jail.
West of Port Angeles, a Dodge SUV was southbound on Olympic Hot Springs Road along the Elwha River when it hit a patch of ice, overturned and landed in a ditch, Clallam County Fire District No. 2 reported.
The accident occurred near Little River Road. The woman driver was not identified.
Also Monday night, a Port Townsend woman, Aimee D. Garrett, 40, was reportedly unhurt in a rear-end crash on state Highway 303 near Bremerton that allegedly involved drugs or alcohol, according to the State Patrol.
The Chevrolet pickup truck she was driving struck a vehicle stopped for a red light behind others at McWilliams Road. The impact began a chain-reaction into three other vehicles.
Nobody else involved in the five-vehicle crash was reported seriously injured by the State Patrol, although two vehicles — including Garrett’s pickup — were reportedly destroyed. One of the occupants of the other vehicles was taken to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton.
Garrett was cited by the State Patrol for DUI and vehicular assault and booked into the Kitsap jail on $5,000 bail.
