‘Taming,’ with dessert at Port Angeles Fine Arts Center

PORT ANGELES — “Women and Shakespeare” is the theme for an evening of dessert and wine at 6 p.m. Friday at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, 1203 E. Lauridsen Blvd.

Peninsula College Dean of Arts and Sciences Janet Lucas and Shakespearean director Anna Andersen will preview the center’s forthcoming production of “The Taming of the Shrew,” talk about the #MeToo movement and hold a conversation about strong women — in Shakespeare’s time and now.

Advance tickets are $20 including fine desserts and wine, available through Monday only at PAFAC.org. Remaining tickets will be sold at the door for $25, with proceeds to benefit the fine arts center.

“The Taming of the Shrew,” starring Sequim’s Jennifer Horton as Kate, opens Friday, July 19 in the PAFAC’s Webster’s Woods park.

Show time is 6 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Aug. 4.

Admission is free. See PAFAC.org for information.
