Teen book group to have its first meeting June 20 at the Jefferson County Library

PORT HADLOCK — There will be a teen book group to read and discuss “The 57 Bus” by Dashka Slater.

The initial meeting for the group, aimed at readers aged 11 to 18 years, will be from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

The meeting will be held at the Jefferson County Library, 620 Cedar Ave.

Copies of the book will be provided for participants to read before the group reconvenes Aug. 1 to discuss it.

According to a press release, “The 57 Bus” tells the story of an agender teen who is set on fire by another teen while riding a bus.

Author Dashka Slater has published nine fiction and non-fiction books.
