CHIMACUM — A 13-year-old was transported to a Silverdale hospital after a wreck on Beaver Valley Road at 9:29 a.m. Saturday.
Aixa Duran-Sanchez was taken to St, Michael Medical Center, the State Patrol said in a memo. Her condition was not available late Saturday.
She was a passenger in a car driven by Stephanie E. Duran-Sanchez, 17, of Port Ludlow, who was not injured, troopers said.
The car was traveling southbound near milepost 8 on state Highway 19, also known as Beaver Valley Road, when the driver lost control, left the roadway and stuck a power pole, the State Patrol said.
The car came to rest in the southbound ditch, troopers said.
The cause of the collision was fatigue, according to the State Patrol, which cited the driver for second-degree negligent driving.
Both were wearing seat belts.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were involved, the State Patrol said.
