BLYN — The state Department of Transportation began constructing a temporary two-lane bypass for U.S. Highway 101 over Discovery Creek on Monday.
The work zone, at milepost 268.5 near west Sequim Bay, will have daytime shoulder closures and occasional night-time lane closures with alternating single-lane traffic, according to a DOT press release.
Once the bypass is completed and traffic is detoured onto it, crews will replace a culvert under the road with a new bridge.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of next summer, the DOT said.
