PHOTO: Tempting tree takes top price in Port Angeles

PORT ANGELES — The highest-bid Christmas tree, titled “Tempting Essentials for Christmas,” is shown on Saturday after fetching $7,000 during Friday’s Festival of Trees Gala auction at Vern Burton Community Center in Port Angeles.

The tree, designed by Kathy Skinner and Pat Elmer and sponsored by Merrill & Ring, included the premium of dinner for eight at Bill and Kay Hermann’s family ranch, along with a variety European ornaments.

Proceeds from the gala auction benefit the Olympic Medical Center Foundation.
