HOLLYWOOD — It was a mere month ago that Gillian Anderson (Scully) and David Duchovny (Mulder) tweeted “first day” photos from the set of The X-Files relaunch.

Now there’s Scully and Mulder in action in a tantalizing teaser (below) for Fox’s “201 Days of The X-Files” event.

With exactly that number of days remaining (as of July 7) until the show’s much-anticipated January 2016 return, the network is encouraging an episode-a-day re-watch, commencing with the 1993 pilot and concluding on Jan. 23 with the 2002 finale.

Whether you follow along via streaming services like Netflix and Amazon or via DVD, you can acknowledge your participation through social media on Twitter (@TheXFilesFOX), Facebook (TheXFilesOnFOX), Tumblr (http://xfilesfox.tumblr.com/) and Instagram (https://instagram.com/thexfilesfox/).

Now enough with the old — what’s up with the new?

The fresh footage begins at the :28 mark with Mulder insisting that “The truth is in there.” (By “in there” he means the X-Files, of course.)

Scully responds, “I’ve heard the truth Mulder. Now what I want are the answers.” That’s accompanied by a shot of both agents walking into a darkened room, flashlights and guns drawn. That always was a good look for these two.

The X-Files premieres Jan. 24 on Fox.
