‘THING’ festival lineup announced

Fort Worden to host two-day event in August

PORT TOWNSEND — More than 30 acts and events have been announced for THING, a two-day festival planned this summer at Fort Worden State Park.

Produced by the Seattle Theatre Group and Adam Zacks, who organized the Sasquatch Festival, the lineup was announced Monday for the Aug. 24-25 event at www.thingnw.org.

General admission tickets will go on sale on the website at 9 a.m. Friday. Children 13 and younger will get in for free.

The lineup includes:

• Violent Femmes, De La Soul, Café Tacvba, Calexico and Iron & Wine;

• Jeff Tweedy, Khruangbin, Kurt Vile & The Violators, mentalist Scott Silven, Tank and the Bangas, Parquet Courts, Phosphorescent;

• Japanese Breakfast, Napoleon Dynamite Live!, Snail Mail;

• John Reilly & Friends, Natasha Lyonne, Architects of Air’s Luminarium;

• Bunny Ears podcast with Macaulay Culkin, Fontaines D.C., Júníus Meyvant;

• Lindy West, Makaya McCraven, Todd Barry, Sudan Archives;

• Ryley Walker, Bedouine, An Officer and a Gentleman Live Read;

• The Tobolowsky Files podcast with Stephen Tobolowsky, Caspar Babypants;

• Too Beautiful To Live with Luke Burbank & Andrew Walsh, Black Belt Eagle Scout;

• The Black Tones, Orville Peck, Claire Dederer, Dance Church with Kate Wallich & Amateur Hour;

• Night Market, yoga, guided hikes and more to come.

According to the festival website, general admission tickets are available in either a one-day or two-day option.

Prices are dependent on date of purchase and range from $99.50 to $129.50 for one-day passes and from $189.50 to $249.50 for two-day passes, with the higher prices coming as the festival dates near.

Tickets can also be bought in person at Fort Worden, 200 Battery Way; Quimper Sound Records, 1044 Water St.; Velocity Coffee, 431 Water St.; and Paramount Theatre Box Office, 911 Pine Street in Seattle.
