SEQUIM — Barbara Jannsen of Woodinville and Jesilyn Borman of Mill Creek had just polished off servings of lavender ice cream on a sunny afternoon.
They were two of thousands of people milling around the Street Fair on Saturday during Sequim’s Celebrate Lavender Festival, the most-attended festival on the North Olympic Peninsula.
Their next move was not firm, but they were seriously thinking about a Clallam Transit shuttle bus ride to a lavender farm.
Jannsen and Borman found out fast just how popular the festival has become as they joined thousands of others Saturday visiting the Sequim-Dungeness Valley.
“We had to book a room I Port Angeles because we couldn’t get one here,” said Jannsen, who arrived Friday night in Sequim with her friend.
