SEQUIM — Three area residents had been treated and discharged from Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles by Saturday after a wreck near Sequim Bay State Park on Friday.
Transported were Roy Eugene Nelson, 86, of Port Angeles; and Edward S. Blacksmith, 89, and Johanna E. Blacksmith, 81, both of Sequim, according to the State Patrol.
They had been released from the hospital as of Saturday afternoon, hospital staff said.
At about 3:21 p.m., Nelson, who was driving a 2003 Ford Ranger pickup truck, turned left from Louella Road onto westbound U.S. Highway 101 and collided with a silver 2005 Dodge Caravan being driven by Edward Blacksmith, with Johanna Blacksmith as a passenger, the State Patrol said.
Both vehicles struck the guardrail, coming to rest on the shoulder of the eastbound lanes.
Nelson was cited for failure to yield, police said.
