Three hired at Olympic Medical Physicians

PORT ANGELES — Olympic Medical Physicians has added three health care providers to its roster.

Olympic Medical Physicians, a division of Olympic Medical Center, announced the hiring of gastroenterologist Dr. Duane Webb, urologist Dr. Dale Russell and certified physician assistant Charles Speed.

OMP now has 74 providers in a variety of specialties serving the North Olympic Peninsula.

“We are very pleased with our continued success in bringing qualified and experienced providers to the community,” said Dr. Rebecca Corley, OMC chief physician officer and pulmonologist, in a Wednesday statement.

“Each provider fills a needed role on our medical staff that allows patients to get care they need locally.”

Specialty clinics

Webb is working at the OMP specialty clinics in Sequim and Port Angeles.

He earned his medical degree from Stony Brook University, completed his fellowship at the University of Vermont and most recently worked at a clinic in Vancouver, Wash.

“We have needed an additional gastroenterologist in our community for some time now, and we are pleased to have Dr. Webb and his wealth of clinical and surgical experience join Olympic Medical Physicians,” Corley said.

Russell has joined the OMP Specialty Clinic in Port Angeles.

He went to medical school at Duke University and performed his residency at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Russell has worked in Scottsdale, Ariz., since 1997.

“Dr. Russell is an excellent complement to our expert team of urologists, Dr. Carleen Bensen and Dr. Alan Kowitz,” Corley said.

Webb and Russell are accepting physician referrals.

Primary care

Speed, who has joined the OMP Primary Care Clinic in Port Angeles, has more than 15 years of experience working in family medicine in Monahans, Texas.

He earned his master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Nebraska and holds bachelor’s degrees in physician assistant studies and pharmacy studies from the University of Texas and University of Mississippi.

“The beauty of the North Olympic Peninsula drew Charles’ attention to our community, and we couldn’t be more pleased that he chose to become a member of the provider staff at our Primary Care Clinic,” Corley said.

“We are continuing to recruit advanced practice clinicians such as Charles, along with physicians, to help fill the need locally for primary care access.”

The OMP Primary Care Clinic has a waiting list for new patients.
