SEQUIM — Two sunset dinner cruises around Protection Island, both starting from John Wayne Marina, are set for July 19 and 20.
The 6:30 p.m. cruises on the Glacier Spirit are part of the Sequim Lavender Weekend festivities, and will benefit the Dungeness River Audubon Center (www.Dungeness
RiverCenter.org).
Tickets are $65 including a gourmet dinner featuring salmon, Pane d’Amore bread, Caesar salad, “Capt. Pete’s Party Potatoes” and a raspberry-drizzled brownie for dessert. Wine will be available for purchase.
On the 55-passenger, 65-foot ship, guests will also be treated to a narrated program on marine birds and mammals between John Wayne Marina and the Protection Island National Wildlife Refuge. Passengers can plan on seeing tufted puffins, rhinoceros auklets, and other sea birds on the two-hour tour.
The dinner cruises have completely sold out for the past four years, said Vanessa Fuller, spokeswoman for the River Center, which is in Railroad Bridge Park at 2151 W. Hendrickson Road.
